James R. Lindner, MD
Dr. Lindner was born and raised in a suburb of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh earning a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. He remained at the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. He graduated medical school as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), the prestigious medical honors society. Dr. Lindner performed his training in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Michigan hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Following his orthopaedic training, he then completed fellowship in sports medicine at Panorama Orthopaedics and Spine Center in Golden, Colorado.
During the course of his training, Dr. Lindner has taken care of athletes in multiple sports at different levels of competition. He assisted in the care of the Wolverine hockey and football teams at the University of Michigan. He also provided coverage for the baseball, swimming & diving, and water polo Big Ten Championships. As a fellow, Dr. Lindner provided sideline coverage for multiple high school football teams in Jefferson County, CO as well as the Division II Colorado School of Mines football team. His experience also included running a training room on a weekly basis at Colorado School of Mines, Regis University, and Metro State University in Denver, CO. In this setting, he gained significant experience working with athletes across multiple sports including: soccer, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, softball, wrestling, track and field/cross country, and swimming/diving.
Dr. Lindner is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is a published author for his research investigating the bone mineral density of the proximal humerus in the setting of a rotator cuff disease. Dr. Lindner enjoys golfing, skiing, and attending any type of sporting event, and amateur beer brewing.
