J. Todd Davis, MD
Dr. Davis was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, earning a B.S. in Biological Sciences/Pre-Medicine from Ohio University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Ohio State University. After completing his family medicine residency at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborne, Dr. Davis was the first sports medicine fellow at Arizona State University. He then joined the ASU sports medicine department as a team physician.
Dr. Davis started a practice in 2005. Since that time he has worked with many local high school sports teams and clubs and serves as a team physician for ASU. He currently is a primary care sports medicine provider for the Arizona Diamondbacks and assistant sports medicine consultant for Major League Baseball umpires. He continues to educate future physicians as a preceptor for medical students, residents and sports medicine fellows. In July 2009 he joined Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists in Gilbert, AZ He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Arizona Academy of Family Physicians.
As a Sports Medicine Specialist, Dr. Davis specializes in the non-operative medical treatment of sports injuries of athletes of all ages and levels of participation. However, if surgery is required, Dr. Davis is trained to recognize these injuries and refer them to our surgical specialists at Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists.
Dr. Davis is an amateur brew master and enjoys spending his free time with his family, especially his sons, Austin and Alex. His wife, Becky, is actively involved in the community through the Live Love organization (whatislivelove.com).
